Ottawa is getting great goaltending from backup Martin Gerber who is filling in for the injured Ray Emery. Gerber has a 1.73 goals-against average so far this season. Gerber is 14-0-2 with a 2.02 GAA in 16 appearances since Dec. 23rd of last year. Gerber lost his job last season to Emery and never got it back as Emery led the Senators to the Stanley Cup Finals. The final teams that make the MLS playoffs could be decided this week. FC Dallas and the New York Red Bulls both clinched playoff spots and just two spots remain. Nearly every team has two regular season games remaining although Los Angeles and Chivas USA each have three games left.
