The Kobe Bryant saga gets underway on Tuesday night as the Lakers and Rockets open the season at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Kobe is the subject of trade rumors as many people believe he will be traded within the next couple of weeks. He is expected to be in uniform for the Lakers on Tuesday night. "I'm still a Laker. I'm here. I'm ready to play," Bryant said, "My focus is here with this ball club. Wherever I play, I'll be ready. I'm focusing on this team. Dr. Buss said business is business. I understand that."
The Lakers did not make many changes in the off-season. The only move of note was brining back guard Derek Fisher who was part of the championship teams between 1999 and 2002.
