Current Line at SBG: Spurs -13.5 , Total 189.5
The defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs open up defense of their title on Tuesday night as they host the Portland Trail Blazers. This was expected to be the debut of Portland’s Greg Oden but that will have to wait a year as Oden had surgery in the off-season and is expected to miss this year. The Spurs head into the season as one of the favorites to repeat with all of their superstar players returning. "We can't wait to get the real thing started up," guard Brent Barry said, "We've worked hard to get to this point, and we're ready to go." SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking Spurs at Home.

The Trail Blazers still have some young talent including star guard Brandon Roy. The Spurs are a heavy favorite on opening night but laying 13 points at home is never easy. The Blazers could be competitive in this game. "We had a good camp and I liked our effort,'' Portland head coach Nate McMillan said, "We showed some good things. I like our energy and I like this team.''
The Blazers will be counting on Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge to carry the load this season. Last season the Spurs were 43-39 against the spread while the Blazers were 41-41.
